Vol. 3 No. 3 (2024): August 2024 Issue

The August 2024 issue of Future Energy Journal brings together multidisciplinary research spanning renewable energy policy, photovoltaic systems, artificial intelligence, energy optimization, and waste heat recovery. This issue examines the future of renewable energy in Iran’s energy policy, providing insights into the country’s evolving approach to renewable energy development and energy transition. Complementing this policy perspective is a techno-economic analysis of achieving zero electricity bills through grid-connected photovoltaic systems in Saudi Arabian governmental schools, highlighting the potential for solar energy to reduce operating costs and improve sustainability in public buildings. The issue also explores the application of neural networks and principal component analysis for predicting power and solar energy using meteorological parameters in Senegal, alongside an innovative maximum power point tracking (MPPT) approach based on the Flying Squirrel Search Optimization algorithm to improve photovoltaic performance under partial shading conditions. Finally, a comprehensive review of waste heat recovery technologies in modern internal combustion engines examines opportunities to improve energy efficiency by recovering otherwise wasted thermal energy. Together, these contributions demonstrate the diverse technological, economic, and policy approaches being developed to improve renewable energy utilization, energy efficiency, and the sustainability of modern energy systems.
