The February 2024 issue of the Future Sustainability Journal brings together interdisciplinary research that bridges advanced materials science, clean energy applications, and sustainable engineering practices. The studies in this issue address next-generation energy storage through innovative battery materials, valorization of organic waste into high-performance biopolymers, and experimental insights into material behavior under combustion conditions relevant to safety and environmental impact. In addition, the issue highlights practical techno-economic evaluations of solar energy deployment in agricultural irrigation systems and explores the growing role of machine learning in accelerating materials design and phase prediction.
